Mind you, if this version used "Pie Jesu" (which looks hilarious without the accents, lol), then it's probably pretty likely that they didn't get the rights to it or the novel (which may be why it's so hard to get out of Japan). Still, I think a prequel to the stage version, ending with him coming to the opera house, making a home, and then hearing Christine for the first time, aaaand curtain, would have been a much, much better match to the stage show. I must say, I have wondered why ALW didn't do an adaption of Susan Kay's highly successful novel (I am lucky enough to own a first printing hardcover myself, being an avid Phantom fan at the time and snapping up everything I saw-I even have a paperback of PoM somewhere about) I guess he figured people would want a sequel more than a prequel, especially considering what George Lucas did to the word, lol, and maybe he couldn't get the rights. It certainly looks very well-and very imaginatively-done. That looks really cool! I'd really like to see the whole thing myself (although for $200 Canadian plus shipping, I probably won't-yikes!).
